Filed under: Rubber Chemicals — Notch @ 11:54 pm

Brunsbüttel, Germany – LANXESS has announced that it will cease manufacturing an intermediate used in the production of its Vulkanox rubber antioxidants at its plant in Brunsbüttel, Germany. Production of Vulkanox 4020 (6PPD) and Vulkanox HS (TMQ) are not affected. Customers should not be affected by the change. The Brunsbüttel site has about 100 employees, of whom 81 are involved in the production of rubber chemicals. Seventeen of these are affected by the decision. LANXESS said it will continue to make Vulkanox at the site and is building a transfer station at the site to accept the intermediate from another source.

Here is the press release (in German).
